Comparing Google Adwords Radius Targeting vs. City Name Targeting

Testing is an essential component to any paid search campaign. One of our favourite clients, a dallas kitchen renovation company was performing well and generating good leads but we wanted to push the envelope and test the geographic targeting for their campaign. Here is what we did and the subsequent CTR improvements.

The Before:
We targeted a 15 mile radius around their location. Last month, with this strategy, we had a search CTR of 1.67%

The After:
We changed up our targeting to city names. This month our search CTR is 3.13%. The month isn’t over yet, but the results thus far are excellent!
