Card.io, Is This The Beginning of the End?

As I was reading my daily news articles I cam across an article about Card.io, a new website that allows people like you and me to collect money from people that owe us money. Now you can easily use your phone to collect payments.

About Card.io

Now with your smartphone (available on iPhone and Android) that you can download an app and be collecting money in a matter of 2 minutes. This money will be put directly into your bank account or Paypal account. They charge $.30 + 3.5% per transaction. It’s a little steep of a transaction but a pretty sweet system. You take a picture of the credit card and tell the person how much you’re going to charge them. Pretty cool system.

How Will This Change The World?

With products and innovations like this you will start seeing larger amounts of businesses and consumers coming online and charging peoples credit cards. Now with five minutes time you can collect money from clients or friends. You don’t have to swipe it like competitor Square (which I use as well). Now you can take a picture of the credit card and charge it. Collect rent, money from dinner for a friend, etc. Limitless possibilities.

Companies need to come up with innovative ideas like this to be able to compete in the business world. Adapt or die is a motto that I have lived by for a couple years. That is a big reason that I’m in the online world. It’s innovative and the future of the internet. If you aren’t doing online marketing, you are going to be gone and out of business in the next 5 years. You can’t compete, especially when a company can do the exact same thing as you and make innovations like this for little to no money. Sure, this has money behind it but it’s mostly time. Is this the beginning of the end of non-online businesses. YES, I totally think it is.
