I’m a big fan of Seth Godin, who isn’t really? I’ve heard him speak at SES Toronto and am an avid reader of his books and blog.
Lately I’m consuming a lot of my blog content on my ipad through Zite. Its a great application that learns your interestes and serves up stories you’re interested in. One thing I’ve noticed with Zite is the way it uses images in posts. The old expression, a picture is worth a thousand words really applies as I’ve noticed I’m more prone to read a store if it has a meaningful/useful/engaging image.
Seth Goden’s brand is… well… Seth Goden! He is a recognizable character who has a shiny bald head and he’s used that in all of his blog posts. Not his face mind you, just the top of his head. Considering that Seth is all about thoughts, ideas, concepts, analogies etc… it stands to reason that his main business is … well… in his head! Brilliant! Every time I use Zite and am flipping though pages of posts, whenever I see Seth’s head, I stop and read his post.
How are you branding your blog posts? What sort of imagery are you using to engage your visitor?
